Are you between 16-24 years old and interested in a fulfilling, dependable, and worthwhile career in conservation?
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service’s Civilian Conservation Centers (CCC) can help you achieve your dreams. In partnership with the Department of Labor (DOL), these centers provide full wrap-around services with free academic credentials, career technical training, and life skills to youth and young adults in residential areas across America.
Applicants living in low-income and/or underserved areas can qualify for the opportunity to make a career for themselves in a welcoming and uplifting environment. The full wrap-around services include transportation, housing, food, physical and mental health services, education, placement services, a small stipend, and more.
As an eligible participant, you are granted a suite of benefits and inclusions throughout the training journey, allowing you to achieve a career you can be proud of without the stress or worry of sacrificing your livelihood for education.
The Forest Service and many public land agencies hire educated and trained conservation professionals each year. In 2024, The Forest Service has already hired more than 70 critical entry-level positions in wildland firefighting, forestry, administration, and maintenance.
Program graduates are sought after for their training and wide-ranging backgrounds, making their experiences and knowledge ideal candidates for federal and industry jobs.
A majority of CCC program graduates choose to move directly into employment while many often continue their educational journey into the military, college or advanced training – interrupting the cycle of poverty.

“I never thought I would achieve so much from the program. I came to Job Corps with no license, had dropped out of high school and had never been away from home. Because of Job Corps I have a car, my diploma and a career.”

“I am Native American and it was good to participate in a multicultural project with people from different backgrounds. We lived and ate together while refurbishing a historical cabin, rescuing history for future generations to witness and understand.”

“I don’t regret being in Job Corps for two years, because I have something to show for it. I’m 20 years old and instead of sitting at home and searching for a job, I am building a career. I could not let myself pass up this chance. Job Corps has really changed my life for the greater good and I wouldn’t be where I’m at now if it wasn’t for this program.”
—Dajeanai P.
“It was one of the greatest experiences I’ve had with Job Corps. I really do hope that other students are able to have this experience because it was amazing.”
